If you really want to make a difference, try figuring out what exactly our LGBT Equality Strategy actually is. We don't have one.

For 50 years we have stuck with incrementalism and the false idea that there is a "political solution." We've spent billions. We have little to show for it.

Early last year, in a series of emails, I asked HRC if they had a "strategy to win." They danced around the question and suggested "everyone needs to do whatever they can" and we would succeed "one of these days." Nothing inspirational there. Nothing practical there.

It seems to me we need to redefine our movement and put the focus on actually WINNING. All of the LGBT Advocacy groups seem to be preoccupied with raising money and surviving - not finishing the job, not winning.

Perhaps your effort could include a call to action and a search for answers. WE NEED A COHESIVE STRATEGY.

The biggest thing lacking for our dysfunctional movement is the idea that we can WIN. Until we can see that (even if imagined) we will just keep wishing and hoping and those are not strategies.

I'm certain that if our equality was being held hostage and the ransom was $1 billion, we'd raise the money. So, it's not money - it's ideas. We are still stuck on the same old ideas and tactics. We can do better and we must do better.

How and When can we win our equality?
