HRC really is becoming useless, and I have to agree that its turning into a group of rich gay men (some of whom are Log Cabin Republicans) who like to flatter themselves by meeting gay friendly Democratic politicians at overpriced fundraisers. In truth, we really need to put the heat on the Democrats in Congress and the President to pass at least some of the many LGBT bills that are currently languishing in the Congress. First up they should call-up the Domestic Partnership Benefits & Obligations Act (HR.2517 / S.1102) for a vote on the floor of the full House and Senate. DPBO has already cleared the House and Senate committees and is now ready for a vote. Then the Dems need to schedule committee votes for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (HR.3017 / S.1584) so that it will be ready for a floor vote in each of those chambers. While this is taking place Obama can issue a Stop-Loss Order which will prevent the discharge of any LGBT soldiers while the Don't Ask Don't Tell policy is being repealed. It really is time for all of us to bombard Congress with emails, letters and phone calls to push for all of these bills, because HRC isn't going to get the job done.

HRC just wants to keep having their glitzy cocktail parties, Hundreds of dollar banquets and not do what they are supposed to with the money. It's amazing how many people still send them money when they don't have much to show for it. Stop kissing the president's behind and do what you are supposed to.
