The idea that progress might be as much as two generations away is horrifying - I know how lucky I am to live somewhere where civil unions for same sex couples, and associated rights, is already old news. Unfortunately I'm not sure how much can be done from the other side of the world other than keeping blogging and tweeting stories to make sure everyone knows exactly what's going on.

I am so disappointed in the lack of any meaningful progress with a supposedly democratic president and congress. Perhaps we are 1 or 2 generations away from real progress. The Federal Govt. will end up being the last large employer in the country to get domestic partnership benefits. Without them, ENDA, and repeal of DOMA and DADT, I will not be donating or voting for national democrats anymore as it has no effect. I will vote for Green party nationally and democrats for Governor, state assembley, and state senate in California. The CA dems are on our side and pass meaningful legislation.
