Soap opera fans from across the nation gathered in New York City on March 27 to meet the actors behind their favorite characters. Panelists included Gregory Michael of “Greek” and “Dante’s Cove,” Hal Sparks of “Queer as Folk,” Scott Evans of “One Life to Live,” Jo Weil and Thore Schölermann of “Verbotene Liebe,” Igor Dolgatschew and Dennis Grabosch of “Alles Was Zählt,” and Felix Isenbügel of “Gute Zeiten Schlechte Zeiten.”

I was at this event this past weekend and it was awesome. All the actors were so nice and hung out the entire weekend! I hope they do this again next year!!!

I just wish this event was not just in NYC but went on a small tour like Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc. so not just the NYC fans can enjoy it. I guess I’ll be on the lookout for next year. Hopefully Scott Evans and the others will be available next year, too.

I was not able to attend because the event was held in NYC and I’m in the Baltimore/DC area. I wish this event did a small tour to different cities like Baltimore/DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, etc. because there are other fans in other areas besides NYC. I hope they will be available next year for this event so until next time…

ND Mitchell: FYI this event was only held in NYC; it was NOT just for NYC fans. In fact, very few fans from NYC attended this event. However, fans from all over the world flew into NY to meet/greet and spend the entire weekend with their favorite German actor(s) as well as meet up with other German soap fans. So, if you really wanted to attend you could have. They were only–in your case–a car ride away. Just think of all the excuses those fans that flew in from all over the US, as well as Japan, Australia, The Netherlands, The Bahamas, Canada, etc. could have come up with for not attending.

I also attended. I know for a fact it wasn’t about catering to NYC fans. It was all fans, NYC just turned out to be the location. The idea of a tour is a great idea, but let me assure you the actors were on a tight schedule. I was shocked they were able to keep the smiles on with the lack of sleep and jet leg. For those of us that made it, it was an amazing weekend to meet other fans and see the actors up close. Still, more events like this need to happen. I think these actors are gracious, warm, and can act circles around some of the “Hollywood” types. They have an active community that’s incredible, I am so glad I found them on YouTube!

      Thank you, Shirley
I saw you, but I didn’t have a chance to introduce myself. I had a great time in NYC and look forward to an event like it in the future.
