An accurate census might include one more line item: Gay, Straight or Transgender. Even so, the spectrum of self-identification is not as cut and dried as many would like to believe. Ultimately, the love of my life is of no consequence to the US Government unless they’re planning to round us up for camp — and not the fun kind. Conservately, Kinsey’s 1 in 10 statistic means that there are 3,000,000+ LGBT people in the US. A statistic without basis is meaningless.
