Yet another disappointment with Virginia's own Senator Jim Webb. I am not surprised, as he had already said he was going to do the wrong thing and vote to continue the DADT discrimination against gays in the military. Webb chose to side with the other bigots on the committee like McCain and McConnell, and shame on him for doing that. What was a surprise, was the positive votes of Senators Byrd, (West Virginia) and Ben Nelson (Nebraska) whom I expected to vote against us. Republican Scott Brown once again showed that he can't be trusted, so he needs to be defeated in the 2012 election. When the final bill comes before the whole Senate for a vote, we will see how many other Dems will betray us and how many Republicans, (apart from Collins & Snowe from Maine) will likewise vote to continue the discrimination against gay & lesbian servicemembers.

I'm disappointed that Sen. Webb, after I attended his campaign rallies and wrote checks to support his campaign, chose to vote with the mean-spirited fanatics who take every opportunity to deprive gay American citizens of the very rights for which they have fought, and some even died, to protect. If Webb is going to advance the agenda of John McCain and Mitch McConnell, he should change party and make room for someone who will support our cause.
