Enough insider stuff to make us feel smart, and enough description to make us feel we were there. I grew up in her era (SCHS 1964), so it has been a pleasure to watch her move from the “parade of stars” mode to her own divaship through grit, determination, and a willingness to reinvent. It doesn’t heart, either, that “Respect’ became an anthem for the women’s movement and gay pride. Hail to the queen. We love you, sweetheart!
