Think what's going to happen if and when this issue reaches the Supreme Court of the United States and their potential ruling legalizes equal marriage nationwide. These sad excuses for grown men and women on the far religious right are not going to have anymore say on this matter. Their petty bickering, the ceaseless interfering in the personal affairs of other people they seem to loving basing their ENTIRE lives around is going to come to a complete and total standstill. I keep dreaming of that day, when the sheer idiocy that spews from their lips is forever silenced.

For now, I can only cross my fingers and pray!

6.4 million votes against Prop 8 were joined by nearly 8.25 million registered California voters who weren't concerned enough to vote at all. The 7 million that the H8ers brag about was less than 1/3 of all registered voters.

Equality is not a new right that has just been created out of thin air. Americans have always had the right to equality, but every minority group has had to fight for recognition of that right. I'm sick of hearing the opponents of gay rights mis-quoting the Bible to justify their viewpoint. The religious viewpoint is not relevant, as the court has just said. But if it were relevant, my religious view should have just as much weight as theirs. I am a religious person, and I believe gay marriage is a valid expression of my Christian faith.
