As for best buy - I know a lot of how they operate from another company in retail electronics.

The small stuff - buy online - eg $3 for USB cables, vs 30+ in the store. Those dime type batteries - 2 for $1.25 on ebay, vs 6$ in BB

VGA to DVI connector - $12 in BB, bought 2 for $3 online ebay.
Just examples

TVs -find out what you wnat, and buy from Amazon.com - the company, not their dealers. MY son saved $500 on a 57" a year ago. After he tried to get educated at BB, and discovered the kids didn't know anything.

Anb services- all hose services you need. Overpriced 3-5 to one. Most people have friends who do computer maintenance or know someone who does. $300 for antivirus package installed, and some BS "we'll tune up your compueter. crap. Bought the swr online for $25 or so, installed it myself in 20 min.

And same re TV installation. So easy if you just use the stand, or if you know how to mount a a wall mount into the studs in the wall (not the stud buys at the bar)

And you don't need those tune up services for your brand new TV. It should work out of the box ok. the rest from the BB etc is fluff

And extended warrantees - according to consumer reports, a really lousy deal. Accordign to what I learned, 50-60% of the cost goes directly to the store as profit. And since they now have your money, is it possible they will prioritize you last, and fix the computers of the people who are paying over the counter and represent additional income.

If you really feel you need an extended warrantee, go with the MFRs extended warrantee. Usually more comprehensive, fewer BS denials, and half the cost of th e stores' cuz the store is cut out of the action with their 50=60% cut.

Don't get mad. Get even.
