What a shame. I liked him. And no the change in city population and crime rates are Fenty magic, exceeding the rest of the country in both. How exactly is there more teaching to the test than before? At least now there is some very small standard–while leaving room for those teachers who actually try (60%?) to add to it without undue pressure. This wasn’t luck. I’m no liberal (libertarian). Gray will steer the city back down an irresponsible leftist economic road, putting the city back where it was. What a shame.

Increased test scores doesn’t mean better educations. Teaching to the test games the system. The test are very imperfect indicators of true learning.

Overall crimes rates are down all over the entire country. Febty’s riding a nation wave.

City populations are increasing all over the country as well. Same thing: national trend not Fenty magic.

Those less provincial in their view realize that he isn’t that great but rather mediocre and lucky to be mayor during some positive (especially during the Great Recession) trends.

I am not sure what people thought he was supposed to do besides make this a better city… did you all want a hand-job or something.

Didn’t people vote for King George Bush because they thought he was a nice guy to have a beer with?

We will be watching Mr Gray.
