Gay hostage on Thursday's Oprah

As the Blade reported on Sept. 1, one of three hostages held by James Lee at the Discovery Communications headquarters that day was gay.

Christopher Wood, a former Washington Blade marketing manager who now works at Discovery, was held at gunpoint in the lobby for four hours. All of us at the Blade were, of course, relieved at the outcome and wish Chris and the other hostages the best as they cope with what happened.

Chris and another of the hostages will be interviewed for the first time about the ordeal on Thursday’s Oprah Winfrey Show.
