Once again, I feel betrayed by the leaders I helped elect. Obama has wasted so much time trying to cram the throats of voters with a health bill that nobody wanted, he has used up all of his political capital. Webb of Virginia announced he would not vote for cloture yesterday, but voted yes when, in my opinion, he determined that the bill would fail anyway, thus allowing him to claim that he voted with his party. Obama continues to demonstrate his ineffectiveness in getting anything important done. Can you imagine Lyndon Johnson putting up with the antics of today's Republicans? I agree with others that Obama is turning into another Jimmy Carter.

Although I don't think this bill goes far enough to repeal DADT, (I think they should repeal it outright) it is a step in the right direction. The senate should have taken action a long time ago, so pass the bill already! Maybe now Pelosi can take up the Domestic Partnership Benefits & Obligations Act, (which has been waiting for a floor vote for nine months) and get bust on ENDA which hasn't even had a committee vote. Time is running out for these bills and if the GOP takes over either house they will certainly kill all Pro-LGBT legislation.

This bill should just die, as it is offering amnesty to illegal aliens. That has no place in a defense bill. Reid and the Dems are pandering to the illegals and that is just disgusting. They should vote to have our immigration laws enforced instead. Pols who support illegals and amnesty better start looking for a new job in November.
