Sussex County has more than just Rehoboth. In fact, it makes up more than 49% of the state. Rehoboth is just a small segment and the votes are in the western part of the county. Knowing how conservative the county is outside of the Dewey-Rehoboth-Lewes-Milton area, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that a Republican runs well, much less someone as tuned in to everything as Peter Schott claims to be.

This comparison of O’Donnell to Scott Brown is one of the most ridiculous comparisons ever. Brown was and is a social moderate who supports civil unions and opposed the federal marriage amendment. He’s already been called a RINO by Alan Keyes, one of the foremost wingnuts and homophobes in the country.

O’Donnell has been infected with some brain virus or something. She’s just not right. Every strange thought seems to lodge in her mind and she blurts them out too. The tea party and independents are seriously desperate to have found this woman much less select her to represent their views. The Delaware LGBT’s have to work hard to ensure she does not get elected. God forbid if she somehow does wind up in the senate.

To win, O’Donnell will have to deceive the electorate into thinking she’s much more moderate and reasonable than she really is. That’s basically what Scott Brown did. Remember, deception is a standard, essential part of the Republican playbook. O’Donnell’s goal now is to fool the voters into electing her.

Don’t get complacent and assume anything. We also assumed that Scott Brown would lose the election to replace the Ted Kennedy seat in MA yet the arrogance and short-sightedness of the Democrats there severely over-estimated the appeal of the candidate they ran for office.
