HRC has a vested interest in preventing drastic change. Solomnese makes what, $350,000 a year? Appearing to be for change is much healthier for Gay Inc’s bottom line than actually ACHIEVING change…not that my experience has made me cynical…

Government is supposed to be protecting the people– where is the leadership here?? I don’t understand what gays in the USA are celebrating. It’s not like they’re equal citizens at all, and if they ever got outside the US they’d know that.

This is no time for lgbt’s to be celebrating anything with the WH. HRC is completely tone deaf about how badly defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory during these last 2 years — and they have failed to take ANY responsibility for their role in perpetuating the WH’s inertia and complacency on lgbt legislation. The golden window of opportunity (with Dem House and Senate majorities) for legislative change is gone, and it is not coming back in the forseeable future. This is not “sky is falling” rhetoric — it is game over.

Kevin, you’re absolutely right. Our “leadership” is lockstep behind Obama despite the fact that he has thrown us under the bus. We truly must like punishment. We had “I feel your pain” Clinton, and now our “fierce advocate” Obama. But heck, at least there was a White House reception invitation in it for HRC and the leaders of other national org. BTW, Joe ask her about the 3,000+ who languish on ADAP waiting lists while you are at it. .Pathetic
