We don’t have 60 votes in the US Senate and I’m very sorry about this part, but Obama doesn’t have a “magic-wand.” Really, he doesn’t.

Of course its a partisan issue, McCain has already said he will filibuster it. If Obama still thinks, after yesterday’s trouncing of progressive politics, that he can get congress to pass a DADT repeal, then he must be living on a different planet. The court system is now the only hope for advancement of LGBT rights, except, wait, Obama’s constitutional lawyer alter-ego thinks defending the policy in court is a good idea. Say goodbye to DADT repeal anytime in the next decade, I am afraid.
