I think Obama is playing a shrewd political game here. He knows he’s got a rough re-election campaign coming up and the last thing he needs is the Repugs painting him as being a supportive friend to the LGBT crowd. He’ll wait until his second term to be our ‘Fierce Advocate’. Then when the political heat is off he’ll throw in with our cause.
