I think the governor would have been wise not to have made that stupid comment that enacting second class citizenship…we civil unions would be good for business. It’s a good thing these states enacting domestic partnerships or civil unions don’t have to contend with me as a convention booking agent. I would by pass them without a second’s hesitation. Iowa, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut and the District of Columbia all have fine facilities to host conventions and provide entertainment.

Let us compromise with civil unions for now. When people realize they aren’t a threat and denyng full marriage is stupid, things will change for the better. Each victory makes defeat of DOMA somday more possible although likely not for awhile.

CT passed a civil union law in 2005, and marriage equality in 2008.
