Being out in public is their RIGHT! They shouldn’t have to hide their relationship for the public. It’s not the public’s business. And their marriage, nor the benefits they receive, are anybody’s business either. Legal marriages deserve equal respect. There’s no way logic can fit into the argument that if this particular couple gets equal treatment, then the public needs to stick their nose in it. That’s why this is all unconstitutional. It’s blatant discrimination and you’re endorsing it! DOMA a sick, twisted concept and doesn’t deserve any defense.

And just enforcing “Don’t ask, don’t tell” has COST taxpayers over $500 million since it started being enforced in 1994

I agree, Kathy- what two people do in the privacy of their home is their business, but when they want to make it public, get married, get benefits, etc, then it’s not just their business anymore! That’s why all this is being fought over.

if we have no money to fund various social programs that people NEED, how do we have the money for him to defend a discriminatory law such as DOMA? Oh wait, maybe that’s why you want to defund everything….that way you CAN afford to defend it. I do not support defending this law. What 2 people do in the privacy of their home is THEIR business. He claims he wants smaller government, but that’s only in cases where it affects him and his cronies. If it has to do with someones beliefs, sexual gender, or a females reproductive system, then we need MORE government involvement. At least that’s how he’s presenting it.
