Because, you idiot, 14 year olds cannot sign legal contracts. And if two adults choose to be married, knowing that they will have legal consequences if they do so, they have that right. How od we know a man and woman are really in love and wanting to be married? Do we have someone move in with them to ensure they have a sexual relationship? Being gay or lesbian does not mean a behavior, unless being straight means you are constantly having sex in public. It means it is who you are. In your case, that would be a bigot with some stupid idea that adults cannot decide with whom they want to spend the rest of their lives in a civil marriage contract.

Error in Quote:

Clement writes: "But having undertaken the representation, I believe there is no honorable course for me but to complete it. If there were problems with the firm's vetting process, we should fix the vetting process, not drop the representation."

Wow! We see him in action already. Better than a championship boxing match. A battle of wits.

Richard Socarides, president of Equality Matters is a bla-bber mouth - he acts like he's part of the House Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group, a committee in Congress, following the rules of Congress to defend its own, fairly passed DOMA law (Defense of Marriage Act). But he is not. He believes what he says only because he says it.

DOMA is not anti-gay (assuming people of homosexual behavior are happy), for it rules out of marriage many other people.

How do you differentiate between two roommates and two roommates? DNA testing? If couples of homosxual behavior want to enter civil marriage, well.... so would a host of other couples (blood-related, polygamists, roommates, minors). If DOMA is so discriminatory, then why do we discriminate against 14 year olds who also want to start a family?
