Senator John Kerry’s intervention last year in reuniting American Tim Coco with his Brazilian spouse Genesio Oliveira played a pivotal role in the successes that have followed. Kerry put the issue on Obama’s and Holder’s radar and then work doggedly behind-the-scenes to keep up the momentum. Kerry reminded Holder of his authority to vacate decisions by the Board of Immingration Appeals (BIA) and then signed the letter to Holder recently. Thank you Senator Kerry!
