So what?! This woman is no friend of the trans community. She charges outrageous fees to her supposed own kind. She’s got no interest in coming to Washington other than to increase her client base. She’s nothing but greedy. She could offer the SRS for 10% less and still make a killing but she sees her SRS as bait to draw patients. When I have my surgery done it will be done my someone that isn’t using their identity like a side show.

I don’t feel Dr. Bowers is totally honest about where she learned to do SRS. The single stage procedure she does now was really learned from one of her competitors: Drs. Menard and Brassard in Montreal, not from Dr. Biber, who did a very different two stage procedure using older techniques. And her statement that ENT doctors don’t do trach shaves is bizarre. Many of the doctors currently doing FFS (including trach shaves) are otolaryngologists (a fancier new term for ENT specialists) including Dr. Spiegel in Boston.
