LOL... no comparison... The gay activist orgs. are there for support... not for a "spy" to work against us, knowing all of the plans to pass on to our opponents to use against us.

The Judge was seen as a conservative in many of his previous rulings. He was also appointed by a conservative President. What about if the gay judge had ruled against the LGBT community... should we say he should have recused himself?

The Judge used Law to support his ruling. The Judge did not create law. There are ways of making almost any judge recuse him/herself from a case. Should a Catholic, Evangelical, Mormon judge not have been allowed to rule on the suit?

How about a judge that had already ruled for or against LGBT rights?
How about a judge that is a member of a minority?
How about a judge that has LGBT family or friends.

The ruling has been appealed... New judges will rule on it. If the LGBT people had lost, they would have also appealed.

If a gay judge is permitted to rule on the California gay marriage initiative, why isn't a man who is known to have worked as a rep of an anti-gay conservative think-tank permitted to serve freely on one or more gay activist organizations?
Who knew that our expose over dozens of advocacy groups' endorsement of the AT&T / T-Mobile merger would lead to a huge shuffling of power at GLAAD?

Here's a link to the now infamous audio interview we did with Jarrett Barrios and Timothy Karr the Campaign Director for Save The Internet a non-profit coalition of over 2 million people seeking to protect Internet freedom.

http://www.feastoffun.com/podcast/2011/06/09/fof-1395-dont-believe-the-fairy-tale/

All I wanted to see was GLAAD apologize for making a mistake and come out in support of Net Neutrality, because at the end I think this is what is at stake. The sad reality is they got themselves into this because of their inability to change course when it became obvious they had been swindled by AT&T.

I still believe we need advocacy groups like GLAAD to do the boring stuff nobody really wants to do and leave the more exciting work in chastising homophobic stand-up comedians to us.

Internet, you're welcome. The role of being a media watchdog has now landed in your lap.

>>The Heritage Foundation declined to comment about the purpose of this now-defunct program....<<

Troup Coronado himself states in a C-SPAN video from 08 Oct 1991 that "The New Majority Project aims to expand Heritage's understanding of African-, Hispanic-, and Asian-American communities; and to improve Heritage's ability to communicate conservative public policy ideas and solutions to minority communities. The New Majority Project also encourages greater minority involvement in the Heritage public policy network." He then proceeded to introduce right-wing Miami mayor Xavier Suarez.

Besides Suarez and Armstrong Williams, Coronado introduced a rogue's gallery of other right-wingers like Kenneth Blackwell and Phyllis Berry Myers at other Heritage Foundation events covered by C-SPAN. Additionally, anti-gay one-time presidential candidate Steve Forbes made a brief appearance onstage with Coronado at one of these events.
