Not only is the co-chair a republican with ties to Coronado, but the last organization he was in charge of imploded. After promising thousands of dollars to HIV charities, AOF reneged and folded. Just search for Academy of Friends. I guess the repubs won’t be happy until they extinguish all gay charitable organizations.

Seven resigned because the board would not adhere to ethics and conflict of interest standards. I assume those who left could not in good faith continue asking for donations (a requirement). This is a classic case of the gay community, and particularly bloggers wanting nothing to do with anyone who’s not a community organizer and chaining himself to the White House fence. If the community wants to get anywhere, it needs to realize that it’s time to build coalitions, not breath fire on everyone who’s not to the left of Dennis Kucinich.

I am concerned that GLAAD has lost so much talent on the Board, and is still headed by a Conservative with ties to Coronado.
