Shakespeare music at the Strathmore

The Castleton Festival Orchestra and Maestro Lorin Maazel present a program of music inspired by Shakespeare at the Music Center at Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Lane) in Bethesda on Thursday at 8 p.m.

The concert will feature songs inspired by “Romeo and Juliet” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” highlighted by spoken performances of verses from by Academy Award-winning actors Dame Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons.

A special post-performance soiree will follow the concert with Maazel, Mirren and Irons in attendance.

Tickets to the concert range from $25 to $150 and can be purchased online at strathmore.org. Tickets to the soiree are $250 and reservations can be made by e-mailing kateclinton@castletonfestival.org or calling the festival box office at 202-721-0020.
