While it’s important not to lose sight of the fact that this event was a momentous step forward in the struggle for more racial representation within the broader LGBTQ movement, it is equally important that we do not make their mistake of privileging some sexual minorities over others.

That’s easy to say if you’re part of the GL community represented on that historic NAACP panel or are a cisgender African American For bi and trans Americans it was another dose of the erasure and exclusion past we see repeating itself far too often in our present.
