		<description><![CDATA[Two months ago, when my 8yo modest SUV -- a renowned Chevy Tracker, not an urban assault vehicle -- was totaled following an accident caused by a red light runner, I did what I thought was unthinkable and bought a sedan, instead of another mid-priced SUV.  The sticker on my 2011 Chevy Volt was higher than, for instance, a Ford Fusion; however, with 2011 tax credits and near-freedom from gasoline, the 5-year cost of ownership cones out well ahead.  I hope that the Washington Blade will feature the Volt and the EVs of other makers in a column soon.]]></description>
