Olney Theatre Center’s 22nd annual free Summer Shakespeare Festival is opening today and will be kicking of the 63rd tour for the National Players.

William Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” will be performed on the Root Family Stage at Will’s Place, Olney’s outdoor stage, tonight and Saturday night at 8 p.m.

“This production of The Taming of the Shrew is set in the wilds of the frontier west, and is a fast paced, funny and farcical ride with some of the Bard’s most endearing characters,” says Clay Hopper, Olney Theatre Center’s associate artistic director.
