That’s pretty much the main reason I don’t really go there anymore. Too many bachelorette parties and gaggles of straight girls who think gays are “so much fun!” there all the time. I get stereotyped by ignorant people enough on the job when they’re shocked to discover I’m not positive, or that I play sports, or that I can’t name a single Cher or Madonna song (I’ve tried explaining that there’s LOTS of gays who don’t fit those stereotypes….). I don’t want to explain to a bunch of obnoxious princesses when I’m out in my free time that no, I don’t care about your shoes, I can’t help with your makeup, and I don’t think your purse is *soooooo* adorable! I prefer JRs – only an occasional straight woman or two, and they’re usually respectful of the fact that gay bars are gay bars, not playgrounds for straight girls or the set of Will & Grace….
