The whole point of the Senate confirmation hearings is to explore a judicial nominee’s qualifications. Absent that, the ball didn’t really have a chance to bounce at all, now did it?

Just because he is gay doesn’t mean he’s qualified for the Court. And that’s the way the ball bounces…
