The cretin says that his family would be put at risk if a transgender person were to use the dressing room at the same time his family was using the room. I would like to know how they would be put at risk, what does the man think is going to happen? Stores that have areas set aside for patrons to try on a clothing item before buying would be smart to declare this area a unisex area. Anyone could use the space, This space would not be a bit unlike restroom facilities used by either sex. If customers don’t like the idea of a unisex dressing area they are not compelled to shop the store.

@Ronnie Luethy: You state that you’re a pre-op transsexual. Oh my. With all the negatives that have occurred recently to transsexuals in the DC and geographic other areas, have you considered all the negatives with which you may very likely be confronted? We recently revisited that you won’t be protected by any federal or state anti-discrimination laws. Yikes! Perhaps you need to reconsider before it’s too late. Thoughts??

So he wants to pass a law requiring the most masculine, bearded female-to-male transgendered men to use the same restroom and dressing room as his daughter. (They generally have female on their birth certificate, even though they live life as a male, and appear as male as any other man.) Yeah…that solves his problem.

Is there a way to contact this Senator and explain to him how much of piece of crap he is? Can someone please hand him some serious research on the subject so he can educate his ignorant self? I’ve never met a trans person who is any more perverted than me. I’m bisexual, do I need my own special bathroom? Watch out, everyone, I’m comin’ for you! I am in a relationship with a trans man and he is one of the most gentlemenly, sweet, caring people I have ever met. He wouldn’t pull half of the crap straight men try to pull and get away with because it’s “natural.” Ridiculous.

I am a pre-op transsexual and have tried on clothing while shopping in Tennessee. This sounds like I have just been publicly threatened with bodily harm! According to Tennessee Code 39-17-308 this constitutes harassment and is a Class A misdemeanor. What are my legal options now. Why is this man not up on charges?

I would love to debate why his thinking is wrong, but I have found that people with these viewpoints don’t generally want to change, and that the law is better than logic at shutting them up some times.
