Openly gay New York state assemblyman Daniel O’Donnell wasn’t about to let his sister get all the wedding attention. O’Donnell married his longtime partner John Banta in Manhattan on Sunday. Mazel tov! Now here is your Fast Five Fix:

  • According to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Australia has reversed course and will now issue a crucial certificate that will allow same-sex couples to marry overseas.
  • Two of the frontrunners in the race to be the next mayor of San Diego are openly gay, according to the Union Tribune.
  • Pressure continues to mount on Dallas mayor Mike Rawlings to sign the “Mayors for Marriage Equality” pledge by Freedom to Marry, according to the Dallas Voice.
  • According to Europe’s Gay Star News, Aeroflot forced a gay flight attendant to marry a woman or lose his job, after he attempted to start an LGBT employee group.

Finally, we all know that this is going to be Madonna week. On Sunday she will play the Super Bowl with Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. and on Friday her “Give Me All Your Luvin’” single will hit stores, and this Thursday American Idol will premier her football and cheerleader-themed music video.
