A lot of details and grey areas are still left in the civil code when you allow same sex marriage… details like prohibitions against a man marrying his mother, sister, aunt, daughter…. etc, had to become generic – a person cannot marry their mother, father, sister, brother, child, grandparent, etc… Why the prohibition at all aside from genetics (and since gays can only adopt, what’s the reason for the prohibition?) We could easily let any two people of the age of consent/age of majority form a legal civil union, but we should have left marriage alone. Many may disagree with me, I’m sure.
