While I very much understand the emotional and social benefits of seeking President Obama's "evolution" on Marriage Equality, if D.C. delegates to the Democratic Convention had to pick their most important issue to mention in the platform, a D.C. Vote in Congress is better.

With a vote, Eleanor Holmes Norton can a whole lot more about DOMA and many other problems and issues D.C. and her constituents face.

For starters, she can vote to repeal DOMA. Thank you.

How about including in their platform that Democrats will support a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution, reduce discretionary spending to 2000 levels, close all loopholes in the tax code, compel people to pass a drug test to receive public assistance, work to eliminate all entitlement spending with a goal of reducing the totality of this spending to 25% of budget by 2020, open up all known natural gas and oil reserves to immediate exploitation, and similar provisions?
