Gay rights, including marriage equality, are indeed the civil rights challenge of our times, and this is a war that needs to be fought and won. It should not be forgotten that Martin Luther King’s widow, Coretta Scott King, was always a strong supporter of full rights for gay Americans.

Everyone interested in doing that, especially those who live in the areas around Washington, DC, should look up Equality Maryland on Google, go to its website and lend it a hand–and some money–in its fight to preserve marriage rights in Maryland this upcoming November.
