James, it appears that you have a problem with same-sex couples having access to the more than 1100 federal marriage benefits to which opposite sex couples have access. Think about it for a minute. Who has been helping to pay for those benefits for all these years without being able to claim any of them? The answer you are looking for is gay couples. They have to file separately and as a result, they pay a higher tax rate. The have to pay the freight, they should be allowed to ride on the train.
