[...] In 2008 the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF) and other groups made lists of over 100 high-priority administrative changes that they’d like to see. We need to make those requests transparent and get them done. These federal policy recommendations do not require congressional approval and would concretely affect the lives of LGBT Americans, but many have stalled. It has been difficult to judge the process on the recommendations because HRC and NGLTF hid their lists after activists started inquiring about progress. (Here are cached versions of NGLTF’s and HRC’s recommendations.) One more note: For all those who claim that these changes are not durable, they are. [...]

"Moreover, the Administrative Procedures Act — a law enacted by Congress in 1946 governing the way in which administrative agencies may propose and establish rules — prohibits a quick change in regulation if a hostile administration takes over. Instituting new final regulations repealing these policies would be a multi-year process and require a justification for overturning them other than for political reasons."

So you think a Mitt Junta will give any more of a damn about obeying the law - much less the Constitution - than the Bush Junta did?

Moreover, courts would have to quash any such chicanery. Here are five reasons why Mitt the dog-abusing, draft-dodging, cop-impersonating Flip will have carte blanche to do anything he and his Wall-Street-ensconced owners want to do: Scalia, Thomas, Roberts, Alito and sometimes Kennedy but definitely whoever they install to replace Ginsburg when she dies.

Disturbing, but thorough reporting from the Blade.

So it is essential that President Obama be re-elected. And in neighboring Virginia, which the president carried in 2008, it is essential that Tim Kaine beats George Allen (2006's guy with a 'macaca' fetish) so Dems can retain the Senate seat from which Dem Senator Jim Webb is retiring.

Pro campaign strategists say it will be difficult for Romney to get to 270 without Virginia's electoral votes. District Obama voters ought to also consider helping the Obama campaign get out the vote in Virginia, as Virginians likely to vote for Obama are also likely to vote for Kaine.

So Log Cabin's junior apologist "doubts" that Romney will roll back gay equality advances and non-discrimination protections? Sorry Mr. Berle, but there is no amount of logic, regardless of how convoluted, that could produce a compelling argument for an equality minded LGBT voter to cast their ballot for a man who unequivocally has pledged to "do things to us" rather than re-elect a man who has pledged to continue his track record of "doing things for us."
