Inter-religious rally for marriage scheduled

By on June 15, 2012

Unity Fellowship Church of Baltimore and First Unitarian Church of Baltimore will lead an Inter-Religious Rally for Marriage Equality before the Baltimore Pride Parade on Saturday, June 16. It will take place at the First Unitarian Church on Charles and Franklin streets.

The event is intended to demonstrate solidarity as people of faith support marriage equality in the months prior to the referendum that will most likely occur in November. Special guests will include the Baltimore Men’s Chorus and the music ministries of those two congregations, and additional musicians are still being added. Del. Mary Washington will speak briefly, as will Maryland faith leaders.

The music will begin at 2:30 p.m. At 3 p.m. the speakers program will begin. At 4 p.m. representatives of congregations will gather at the Pride parade, 10 W. Franklin Street on the Portico First Unitarian Church of Baltimore.
