Gay Democratic activists are planning to hold a fundraiser for President Obama’s re-election campaign in Rehoboth Beach, Del., on Saturday, Aug. 4.

The event will likely be held in a private home but the exact location has yet to be determined. Members of the host committee who have committed to a minimum $2,500 donation so far include: Peter Rosenstein, Jim D’Orta and Jed Ross, Paul Hazen and Michael Ward.

There will be a cocktail party from 5-7 p.m. and a dinner from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Hosts ($2,500 and above) and sponsors ($1,000) receive an invitation to the cocktail party and dinner; supporters ($500 and $250) receive an invitation to the cocktail party. It’s not yet known whether a representative from the Obama campaign will attend.

“This is our time and our president,” Rosenstein said. “Everyone needs to dig deep into their pockets to support the re-election of President Obama. We have never been closer to achieving our goal of full civil and human rights and we can’t take the chance of sliding backwards.”

To join the host committee or for more information, contact Rosenstein at peter@prosenstein.com.
