		<description><![CDATA[I totally agree that politicians should ignore the outrageous, ignorant, and just plain stupid comments made by private citizens whether or not they own a successful business.  It is not the place of government to try to regulate the actions of a business because they do not agree with statements made by owner/operators.

It is the place the public to regulate that business by either going there or not going there. You want to hurt companies like Chic-Fil-A then don&#039;t eat there.  Urge your friends and family to avoid them in favor of companies like KFC or Wendy&#039;s.  Personally I think Wendy&#039;s makes a better chicken sandwich and you don&#039;t have to pay for lettuce and tomato.
 
The boycott has a long history in this country and our community as well.  Word of mouth can still hurt a business and in some cases kill them.  Our dollars can and do make a difference every day by the choices we make.  My husband, Mike and I stamp our money with a GAY $ stamp in hot pink. Over the years we have been able to educate people.  Twice our money was refused so we never went back to those stores. Yes, we could have sued but that is not us. Our buying power speaks for us.

Mike and I are not legally married and wouldn&#039;t bother unless it came with a substantial financial bonus.  After 20 years together we realize that no one is getting out of this marriage alive.   We are husbands and this is a marriage and that is what we have called it for 20 years.  A piece of paper cannot make a commitment last if there is real commitment.  

Don&#039;t get me wrong, with the current set up gays should be allowed to marry simply by enforcing the 14 Amendment to the Constitution for the United States of America which states :  

“Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws. “]]></description>
