		<description><![CDATA[My question here is the obvious one: Given that Democrats had support for LGBT workplace rights in 2008 platform and we didn&#039;t even get so much as a vote on ENDA during the 111th Congress why does anyone think this platform has any connection whatsoever to the way Democrats will actually govern once elected, even if they take back full control of Congress and keep the White House?

People are talking about this like it actually matters in some real way, that is has some kind of impact on actual legislating when recent history teaches us that the platform is nothing more than a big come on, a Democratic Party political ad to try to convince LGBTs and other minorities that they&#039;re going to fight for us once in office, when what we&#039;ve already seen from this party and this president over the last four years, including two years when they were fully in control of the federal government, is precisely the opposite.
