Bravo to these brave homos and allies as they work to affect change in the Republican party. I find support as a gay man from more and more politically and religiously conservative people. I think hearts and minds are changing. I see support for gays in each of the major parties and it wouldn't be happening with Republicans if folks like this weren't out there championing the principles they stand for as out gays and lesbians. Major Republican politicians and donors have gay family members and friends and they are standing with them to demand equality. And the way I see it, nothing suits me better than to have a job, free speech, national security, freedom to worship and a choice at the ballot box. Stop trying to convince people that already agree with you that we are all equal! Do like these folks and get to the front line of the battle for true equality.

Peter, there's nothing hypocritical about working to change our party, which you can not do if you walk away from it. Our mission is not to simply support the most pro-gay candidate in the race but to change the Rep. Party to be more supportive of gay rights. Like so many gay Dems, you have a very one-dimensional view of political change. We don't.

What is so hard to understand about the need to have both major parties on board with gay rights? Most rank and file Reps are NOT anti-gay, so how can one object, in such a hateful way no less, to working to change the party that broadly reflects our belief in limited government and individual rights? It's people like you that actually set back our cause with your one-dimensional belief that all we need to do is vote Democrat and we'll have equality. That didn't work, and you have no plan B.
