Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and D.C. Mayor Vincent Gray are among those scheduled to attend a fundraiser for the group defending the state’s same-sex marriage law at gay Democratic lobbyist Steve Elmendorf’s Logan Circle home on Oct. 2.

The event will take place less than three weeks after a Marylanders for Marriage Equality fundraiser in New York City that O’Malley is scheduled to attend. Former Republican National Committee Chair Ken Mehlman, director John Waters, comedian Sandra Bernhard and actresses Julianne Moore and Sarah Jessica Parker are among those who will co-host the event.

A Hart Research Associates survey in July shows that 54 percent of Marylanders would vote for the same-sex marriage law in the November referendum.

Elmendorf told the Blade that the host committee and additional attendees will be announced in the coming weeks.
