An odd fact you can add to your next trivial pursuit or reddit meetup: Chris Barron and I have the same birthday. Which is also the same birthday as Jimmy LaSalvia, his compatriot at GOProud. Which is also the date of the ratification of the Bill of Rights (Dcember 15).

It should be noted that the DC Republican Committee added equal rights/marriage equality to its platform; however, the DC Democratic State Committee has not yet. Locally, the DC GOP is more accepting of gays than the DC Dems. The national parties are a different story, but that local twist is notable, especially since there is a contingent within the DC Dems that is anti-gay marriage.
