You mean where he did not campaign against Proposition 8 when he was running for office in 2008? Or when he did not come out for gay marriage until after North Carolina banned it this summer? Oh we'll, North Carolina is only 1 out of the 57 states.

I wish I could debate LCR's Clarke Cooper. Nah, it wouldn't be a fair fight. This guy has no clue how obtuse he actually is with commentary like "Romney came out on top because he didn't have to talk about social issues." Clarke, you do realize that it's only you, a handful of rabid Log Cabiners, and your crazy cousins over at GOProud who are willing to pretend that social issues don't matter to LGBT voters? In fact, I am guessing that the reason that we have not seen a Romney endorsement from the LCR Board is because there are still a few capable adults in charge of the asylum.

Barack Obama does not have to address any LGBT issue now, especially given his unprecedented pro-LGBT record of performance for the past four years.

However, at minimum, this president has to be able to articulate and defend his administration's excellent record against at least MOST of Mitt Romney's easily rebuttable, often flip-floppy soundbites.

That presidential incumbent did not bother to show up last night-- at all. It was extraordinarily disrespectful of the electorate he seeks to persuade, as well as to the supporters whose confidence he has long enjoyed.

Bill Clinton-- the only Democratic president to be re-elected since Franklin Roosevelt-- was able to articulate to the nation, in a compelling, 40-minute speech last month, Obama's solid record of accomplishment-- in a way Team Obama did not, or could not do for eight long months prior.

Yet still, after being shown how it's done by a world class Democrat, 'cool, no-drama Obama' is beginning to look weak, diffident, cold and aloof-- even incompetent.

History's modern-era dustbin of Democratic Party presidential losers beckons. Does Team Obama care? Does the president?
