SLDN is a non-partisan organization while the Log Cabin folks are clearly aligned with a political party. Wearing my SLDN board member hat can’t really speak to if Log Cabin should/shouldn’t support a candidate. In fight for repeal they did file a lawsuit but did not play a long-term role (like HRC and SLDN) in trying to get repeal.

It would seem that your comrade has now become your adversary. Just goes to show you, never trust a Republican to fight for equality.

Having a military that is inclusive, attracting the best talent with diverse skills and perspectives, makes our country stronger as we face more complex threats from our enemies. The SLDN hotline (which has provided free legal services to 12,000+ troops) has not seen backlash since repeal. In fact I’ve been told many coming out stories that are extremely positive and affirming. We are a better country today than we were 9/19/2011, but we might fight for full equality.
