You do not have to buy it, because no one is trying to sell it. Take it or leave it. The truth is the truth. Come spend time in Maryland and get to know the players and the politics and you may come to understand things differently.

If Miller's concerns were strictly political, why did he call the bill "anti-family"? Sorry but I just don't buy it.
Becky, those are serious concerns. However, let me ask you, did you read this article in respect to what Carrie Evans said? Have you asked the right questions of her or at least framed them here?

HB235 never receive a vote because the Senate President was not convinced it was a winner in light of how the marriage bill went in 2011. In 2012, there was a "usurping" of control where two individuals felt they had the right to speak for the hundreds of thousands of gender non conforming Marylanders , instead of the large coalition which had formed in December of last years. Their "efforts" were a complete failure because no persons of color were involved in the process, nor did a single one of their community members testifying offer a single instance of discrimination, or did they know "how the sausage" was actually made.

Carrie spoke of the coalition, The Maryland Coalition for Trans Equality. MCTE, who's steering committee is 90% transgender and gender non conforming Marylanders, has gone out into the state, conducted needs assessments and community checkins and based on that data and those experiences is placing a campaign into action.

It should be considerably different than New York or Delaware. I suspect what you will be hearing from Maryland is how to run a successful campaign to pass a bill AND defeat a referendum. Because in Maryland, its passing the referendum which ultimately matters.

Trans rights? What's that? I thought the next item on the agenda in Maryland was securing the rights of gay llamas to march in the St. Patrick's Day parade wearing chaps, cock rings and ball gags.

I suspect this is the last we'll hear of the trans rights bill in the MD legislature for some time to come. Don't forget the bill never got a vote because it was killed by Senate President Mike Miller, a Democrat. Gov. O'Mally, a strong and vocal supporter of same-sex marriage, has said little or nothing on the trans rights bill since marriage passed. I expect all the Gay Inc. money to continue to go toward making sure gays and lesbians can access all the rights and benefits of marriage in Maryland while trans people continue to be left out in the cold. After all, why should it be any different in Maryland than it is in New York or Delaware?

HI Carrie sorry I didnt stay at soundstage, left half an hour too early. Wer'e going to get together after Dec 1 and I'm one of your bigger doners, was on the board of D early on. Told you about a friend of ours and how his anti gay was the common farce.

See you maybe next week.

One of the battles is to insure that Catholic adoption agencies dont get away with claiming they were forced to drop their adoption biz because they cant discriminate. A lie by omission is a lie - like they did in IL. Yes they can discriminate re placing kids. They just have to stop accepting my and your and other taxpayers money. Its put up or shut up with their own $$$

And expect more of the same kind of BS about "I wont sign your marriage license" because it violates my conscious BS. We should provide those type of people with signs saying "because I object to (pick any minority grouP) checkoff lists.

In other words do they di their job or go find another one where its not an issue. Still plenty of unemployed people who'd be glad to do the job as required by law.
