New York-based musician Derek Bishop, a gay piano popster, performs Sunday at the Electric Maid (268 Carroll St., NW) at 8 p.m.

Bishop’s music ranges from ‘50s doo-wop to ‘80s synth pop and more. His first full-length debut CD “Resistance Is Beautiful” blends vintage keyboards, marching band, Broadway orchestra and a rock band.
