Larry’s Lounge owners wed

Ron Robinson and Gunther Mallen wed Sunday at Larry’s Lounge, the restaurant and bar they co-own at 1840 18th St., N.W.

Rev. Bonnie Berger officiated the double-ring ceremony. The grooms wore suits and described it as a semi-informal ceremony. Robinson said they appreciated the personal touches Berger infused in the service.

Robinson’s sister, Ilene Blake, and Mallen’s sister, Rosie, presented the rings. About 18 friends and family members attended. Dinner and a reception followed at Bistro La Bonne on U Street.

The couple, who live together in Mount Pleasant, have been together nearly seven years. They met at JR.’s where Robinson was delivering a daytime order and Mallen happened to be there. They purchased Larry’s Lounge to run together nearly two years ago. They plan a larger reception/open house at the bar on March 3.
