From what I’ve read the new pope is as homophobic as the past one. Apparently he was actually ahead in the early vote counts which led to RATZIngers election in 2005

Any gay person who gives a fucking nickel to this church – its just an example of absolute brainwahsing. I’[m old enough to remember that when the korean war ended we got back some prisoners who despite horrific treatment thought that communism was the wave of the future

Time to ban all religous education until children are of the age of majority

However, the fault would most likely not be the Cardinal’s–or guilty priests or other religious–if the Church would accept the sexual needs of Her clergy and nuns. Accept that these men and women need partners, as do we all, and incorporate those partners into the ministry.
