The publisher of Bay Area Reporter, an LGBT newspaper in San Francisco, made good on a Super Bowl bet with the Washington Blade last week, contributing $1,000 to Baltimore’s Chase Brexton Health Services.

The Blade’s Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl, defeating BAR’s San Francisco 49ers, 34-31. According to terms of the bet, the loser had to make the $1,000 donation to a local LGBT charity of the winner’s choosing.

“We are extremely grateful to the Washington Blade for choosing Chase Brexton as the beneficiary of their wager with San Francisco’s Bay Area Reporter,” said Chase Brexton CEO Richard Larison. “The Blade’s support for our programs and services is an honor. The fact that this donation came because the Baltimore Ravens won the Super Bowl makes it all the sweeter!”
